Masses suspended

Fr Christian’s message to Parishioners:

Dear Parishioners,

After a prayerful consultation and discernment, it’s heart breaking to decide that we have to cancel all of our Masses both the Daily and Weekend Masses, which also include the Stations of the Cross on Fridays. We have tried our very best to meet what is necessary; unfortunately, we have reached the point where we can’t follow anymore the prescriptions given by the Government; or else, this may cause more risk to our parishioners. What is important now is to stay at home and be safe. Do not panic. Keep in touch with all of those updates. Everything will be fine.

Even though we do not have Mass publicly, priests will still celebrate the Mass privately to continuously pray for the people and for the immediate healing of the whole world against the Corona Virus. You might not be there physically, but you will always be present in every celebration spiritually. At home, you can pray the rosary, do act of charity, read and reflect on the bible and even join the Masses online. There are so many things that we can do, especially in this time of crisis. God definitely will understand us.

The cancellation of the Masses will commence on Monday, 23 March until 6 April. Please keep in touch for any further updates, as this may change anytime.

For any emergency, i.e., imposition of the Last Rite, any social help, or just need to talk to someone due to anxiety and stress because of the current situation where we are at, please do not hesitate to ring us through the Parish Office number (08 9841 1129). However, we will refrain from visitation and in bringing Communion, particularly to the elderly.

If you have Facebook account, please add the ALBANY CATHOLIC CHURCH to access the Online Masses and for new updates. You can also check our website: www.albanycatholicparish.org.au.

We continue to pray to God through the intercession of St Joseph to protect us and keep us from harm. We pray especially those people who are working in the frontlines – all healthcare workers and peacemakers.

We apologise for the inconvenience that this may cause you. Thank you for your kind
understanding. God bless to one and all! Keep safe!
